This fruit stands out for its high component of vitamin C, more than orange, the fruit best known for this value, and more than other foods also rich in vitamin C such as lemon, kiwi, guava, broccoli, red pepper or Brussels sprouts.
But its properties don’t end here. It offers minerals such as manganese, iron, calcium and copper. It has 0 calories and is good in fiber. In addition, it is high in flavonoids, essential amino acids for the body, as well as serine, valine and leucine.
All these characteristics make it to be considered a superfood, and its consumption translates into multiple health benefits:
– It strengthens defenses by providing antioxidants, so it prevents the flu and other related problems.
– Vitamin C also offers an anti-inflammatory effect and improves tissue development, which results in good healing.
– Its amino acid component helps growth, tissue repair and recovery of the muscular system after exercises.
– It contributes to improving mood and raising the production of serotonin in the body, known as the happiness hormone.
– In the same way, it gives us more energy.
– It helps the digestive system and protects the liver.
– In recent research carried out by the University of San Ignacio de Loyola, foods high in vitamin C such as camu camu and aguaje have been used to try to prevent neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

All these things claim to be “superfoods” and rich in this or that vitamin. I mean, this stuff is fine. It tastes a little weird, smells even weirder, and it’s probably expensive. And, also, apples are superfoods and so are blueberries, so I’m not particularly impressed. It came in a tiny package, so I guess a serving isn’t that much. No REAL complaints, but this isn’t life-changing, either.

I am fairly new when it comes to camu camu powder. When I first tried it I found that this was a little unpalatable on its own. I added a teaspoon of this to 6 oz of water and was very surprised, not in a good way. I was ready to give this a badd review because of the taste but I decided to do a little research on it first and it turns out that this is typical of all camu camu powder because the berries these come from are naturally bitter. So, I guess I can’t fault this particular one because the taste is normal and should be expected. I really wanted to harvest the benefits of this powder because it is high in vitamin C and other minerals and is actually considered a super food So I ended up adding this to my morning smoothie and found that it was just fine.
For the price, I think you get a fair amount.

This is an excellent Camu Camu. For one, it is organic, so you can have the peace of mind of no toxic ingredients. The next awesome thing is how well ground it is. It mixes perfectly with smoothies and packs a ton of vitamin C. Is it unique? no, but if you want to give your diet a boost of diverse ingredients, you would do well to try this Amazon Rainforest fruit!

This package is a resealable package containing 7 ounces (or 30 servings of 1 teaspoon/5g) of certified organic Camu Camu fruit powder. It only contains the fruit powder, no additives. The fine powder is a brownish color and tends to puff all over when working with it. It mixes in fine with my oatmeal cereal and smoothies. The container that it comes in has the opening on one side at the top rather than centered in the top, which makes it a little difficult to get the powder out. I put the powder into a separate container that was easier to access. The powder tastes fine and doesn’t significantly affect the taste of the food that I’m putting it in.
